ISO 26000
The global standard known as ISO 26000 standards is developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The document, known as “ISO 26000: 2010 Guidance on Social Responsibility,” guides businesses on integrating social responsibility into their operations and business processes. For ISO 26000, unlike other ISO standards that focus on specific management systems, certification is not available. Instead, It is a framework companies can employ to help them better understand and carry out their social obligations.
The standard explains the basic concepts and subjects related to social responsibility to guide how organisations can support sustainable development by considering stakeholders’ and the greater community’s interests. Regarding the concerns of various stakeholders, such as clients, staff, communities, and the environment, It heavily focuses on the value of moral conduct, transparency, responsibility, and consideration for various concerns.
