ISO 37001
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published this management system standard in 2016, ISO 37001 Anti-bribery Management Systems – Requirements with usage instructions. As the name of the standard implies, this one contains the requirements for setting up, implementing, running, maintaining, and continuously improving an anti-bribery management system (ABMS). Furthermore, it offers a structure for the methods and approaches businesses can use to adhere to this standard’s requirements.
An anti-bribery management system aims to support businesses in their fight against bribery. This is achieved by creating the protocols, guidelines, and regulations that support the growth of a culture that values honesty, accountability, and openness. The Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) was created to improve the organization’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to bribery and comply with anti-bribery laws and obligations that the business had established. Bribery is the only issue that can be addressed by ISO 37001. To make matters worse, ISO 37001 pays little attention to money laundering, cartels, fraudulent activity, or any other actions connected to corrupt practices.
