IATF 16949

IATF 16949  is an international standard for quality management systems, especially considering the automobile sector.  The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949:2016 adds industry-specific requirements to the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard and its structure and standards. This product was developed with support from AIAG and was designed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF). A third-party auditor’s certification (Registrar, Certification Body, or Certification Body) is necessary for this standard.

For any company that wants to sell its products to the automotive industry, it is beneficial and required to register with the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949. Establishing Quality Management Systems for their suppliers with the goal of the supplier adhering to the International Association of Testing and Certification IATF 16949: 2016 is expected of businesses registered to this technical specification.
