ISO 50001
For businesses committed to using sustainable energy management to lessen their effect, protect resources, and boost profits, the ISO 50001 was created. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO)provides a practical way to improve energy use by developing an energy management system (EnMS). Its goal is to support companies across all sectors. Moreover, ISO 50001 is built around the continuous development management system paradigm, which is also the basis for well-known standards like ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Integrating energy management into an organization’s overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management makes it more accessible.
Like other ISO management system standards, ISO 50001 certification is optional but available to those pursuing it. Many firms choose to implement the standard precisely because of the benefit from what it offers. Some become certified to prove to outside parties that they have effectively implemented an energy management system. ISO does not perform any certifications.
