ISO 30000

The international standard known as ISO 30000 describes the conditions that must be fulfilled to set up a management system for a facility that handles recycling or dismantling. To manage ship recycling in a way that complies with national and international law and is safe and environmentally sound, this system must be able to create and execute policies and procedures. The ship recycling unit as a whole needs to apply and implement the management system to meet ISO 30000 requirements. Ensuring adherence to all safety and environmental standards, whether within or outside the recycling plant, is the main objective of implementing the ISO 30000 ship recycling management system.

It is voluntary to adhere to this standard. Should any ship dismantling facility choose to implement it, it will inevitably meet the expectations of numerous parties, such as Green Peace, the Hong Kong Convention, and the local government. Improving the safety protocols that are adhered to throughout the dismantling plant and safeguarding the environment are two of the main objectives of implementing this standard.
